"Ok, I’ll be the first to say not to bash a writer or book by the writing but, my god I can’t stand the writing style in this one! I read a lot of fiction books about vampires, paranormal things, etc but with this one I constantly found myself rolling my eyes at the overly dramatic writing style and basic conversation plot. The premise of the story is good, but like 70% of what’s written is just how the main characters keep looking in each others eyes and feeling some kind of dramatic emotion. Not kidding. Every. Single. Time. Lots of repetition of simple vocabulary to the point where it was almost annoying how many times “emotionâ€, “eyesâ€, “feelingâ€, etc were used.
It’s an easy read because it’s simply written but, and I feel bad for saying this, twilight had better, more fluid and less cringe worthy writing. It’s intersting enough to finish the book, but it feel like it was written by a high schooler."

It’s intersting enough to finish the book, but it feel like it was written by a high schooler. - To start off my review, I just want to say that I enjoyed reading this book sent to me by the author. I do not usually read paranormal/romance books, but this one blew me away in a sweep. I've been fascinated with books that centralize on angels, or in this situation--angels of Death.
This translated novel revolves around a normal teenager named Gemma who suddenly encountered a mysterious presence wherein apparently, she's the only who experienced this. Ever since this happened, she's been delusional and lost in her own thoughts. After this Angel of Death, Evan, interfered a lot of times with Gemma, she felt connected with him, and is slowly falling in love with him.
I definitely enjoyed reading this book. I'm even surprised that even the book being translated, it was still as amazing as it should be. This book is divided into a dual point-of-view, being Gemma's and Evan's, which gave a huge advantage to the book. It was fun reading from a human and an angel's perspective.
The thing is, the attachment between the character and myself as a reader was intact. I love how the characters were written; it felt like they were the fictional characters who I really want to be with and hang out with. Actually, all the characters felt like my fictional group of friends, and it was fun hanging out with them while reading this.
Not to mention how beautifully this book was written. The translator did a great job here, definitely commendable. The characters, the story and the dialogue were greatly crafted with an interesting concept that is enough to pull me into their world where angels of death exist to take away lives, and it felt like they took my life for me to live there.
I really recommend this book, and you should try to start reading this book. It may not be as famous as you think, but it's a book definitely worth checking out. If you're interested with a world filled with angels and witches, this one's surely for you.

Omg was I wrong!! This story will take you everywhere in just minutes.
- I REALLY don't understand why this is a best seller. INCREDIBLY slow, and the entire book is about 90% overly dramatic, descriptive language, and only 10% actual story. There is a ridiculous overabundance of phrases like "I was overcome by emotion", "emotion washed over me", "I gazed into his eyes", and "the emotion was so intense". Yeah, we get it, you're emotional. But taking five pages to tell us how he looked at you is over the top and I was bored very quickly. The male lead is one-dimensional and at no time did I feel any connection between them, because their interactions are limited to glances and short conversations, which the author continues to describe as "so intense". I'm 'overcome with the intense desire' to put this book down and never read it again.
- This entire series so far has you captivated from page one on. Elisa S. Amore has a true talent of making you feel as if you are in the story and know each character. Descriptions of each is perfect and not drawn out. Each boom has you rushing for the next one. Highly recommended. You won't be disappointed.
- After reading the reviews of this book - I was expecting to be blown right out of my chair at it's awesomeness. Maybe that's why it fell flat for me? Were my expectations too high? Probably. It WAS a very romantic book - but it was long winded and the passages went on forever!! Put down your thesaurus - or maybe it was jumbled in translation? I don't know - I found myself skipping to the ends of many pages looking for dialogue over the endless internal monologues.
I did enjoy this book, but I have zero desire to read the rest of the series. - I loved this book. I was totally hooked and I could not stop reading. It was a real page-turner. I just hope that Mrs Amore will publish the second part very very soon. Oh my... I can't wait to keep on reading Elisa's books!
